Great Oaks Landscape Services is owned and managed by James Fare who, with over 20 years practical experience in the landscaping and horticulture sector, brings with him a wealth of experience and professionalism. James qualified in 2002 from Myerscough College with a BA (Hons) in Landscape Management, and since then has gained considerable experience working both individually and also as part of a team to create a variety of stunning gardens. He has worked with a team to construct numerous show gardens for prestigious horticultural events including Southport Flower Show, Ascot Spring Flower Show and Chorley Flower Show. James has also worked as a work-based tutor in horticulture at Myerscough College and has worked with apprentices for over 10 years, which has given him the benefit of working with a number of large landscaping specialists in the North West.
James is joined in the company by Matthew Wood, a final year apprentice working towards his level 3 Diploma in Landscaping. In 2018 Matthew achieved the winning gold medal at the World Skills UK competition, and the following year he won the Rising Star Award at the Association of Professional Landscapers 2019 Awards. In 2019 Matthew also competed in the Gardeners’ World Live Young Landscapers Award Competition where he won Gold for his garden and won the competition. This demonstrates Matthew’s exceptional dedication and attention to detail.
